When using conditionals, such as 'if' in sentences, it can refer to present, past and future possibilities. There are 5 main conditionals, zero, first, second,third and mixed conditionals. When changing direct speech to reported speech, some rules apply but mostly it's common sense. In reported speech, there isn't quotation marks as we are not quoting the exact words spoken. Another point to note is the pronoun denoting who can change and that is dependent on the context. The teaching ideas shared in this module is helpful and can be fun. For example, students can conduct media interviews and learn how to change use reported speech.
