Unit 11 described the difference between receptive and productive skill. The two receptive skills that were focused on were reading and listening skills. I leaned the difference between the specialized skills for reading and how important the topic is to engage the students interest in the material. It is vital to choose material that they find interesting and as a result a variety of topics should be covered over the course. Pre-teaching difficult vocabulary will help with comprehension. It is important to create tasks that promote understanding. Incorporating activating phases that naturally lead on from the text is also important.
