Unit 12 Teaching Productive Skills, describes the different aspects of speaking and writing in English. Generally, communication between two people is broken down in the following way: 1. That the exchange is purposeful 2. That there is a need to communicate 3. That there is a need to listen to something. 4. That what they are listening to is of interest to them. There is a difference between productive accuracy and fluency skills. Accuracy skills are measured by the how well the student produces accurate language. And, productive fluency skill is measured by how well a student is able to be creative and experiment with the language.
