In this unit I learnt various troubleshooting techniques for common issues that may arise in the classroom. The first lesson is important for students to build rapport with each other and with the teacher therefore interactive games and ice breakers are useful to get an idea of the language level of the students. Typical warmer ideas are hangman, pictionary, memory games and tongue twisters. When faced with a class with various language levels it is handy to pair strong and weak students together. Techniques for teaching large classes include worksheets, pair/group work, clarity, choral repetition, appoint class leaders and dynamics.
