This unit covered the next two language skills: speaking and writing, categorized as \"productive skills\". The unit began with something I found interesting- how writing is often the most neglected skills because it adds a significant amount of 'quiet time' to the classroom setting. This isn't something I'd thought about from this angle before. Something I think might be able to remedy this neglect would be if only short writing activities were given in the classroom (ones requiring little prep time for students), and longer, essay based activities could be assigned as optional \"homework\" for motivated students who desire feedback.
