In this unit, I learned about present tenses. Prior to this, I knew about types of tense but did not know the characteristics of them or that there are 12 of them. Studying the 4 types of present tense has made me aware of their uses and how to form them, and given me confidence with identifying them. This is useful for correcting students' work, because I have more knowledge of the kinds of mistakes they might make and greater understanding of what the issue might be. I feel that once I have studied the remaining 8 tenses, I will have a stronger understanding of this aspect of English, especially the technicalities of usage and form.
