Unit 12 covered the topics of teaching 0roductive skills of Speaking and Writing. I learned the difference between accuracy and fluency activities and how they are equally important. Speaking activities in the classroom consist of controlled activities, guided activities, and creative communication. I learned what are the reasons students are reluctant to speak, as well as techniques to encourage interaction. The unit discussed writing skills, including handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation, and creative writing. Finally, competitive and co-operative games were discussed, as well as a list of commonly used games provided.
