The unit gave a good basic run down of parts of speech. Again, this unit gave a name to things I know instinctively as a native speaker, but hadn't known the technical term for. I often heard the term Parts of Speech, but wasn't so clear as to the meaning. Also, I now understand what a gerund is. The unit also helped me to strengthen some of the finer points of parts of speech that I knew the rules for generally, for example, when to double consonants in words. The unit made me think about the \"why\" of even basic sentences, so this should help me to educate my students, who still have trouble comprehending the basic parts of speech.
