Being a native speaker of English, you study English grammar in your formative years, and it becomes routine. While I use these grammar forms on a daily basis, this unit helped to me reflect on the technical composition of the English language, which was very challenging! Often persons learning English as a second language say that it is a hard language to learn. Reviewing core grammar components such as the types of nouns, common vs. proper (person, versus John', adjectives, or verbs- transitive, e.g. she is washing the car, versus intransitive, we fell asleep, helped me to better frame the source of confusion ESL learners often face.
