This Unit was very helpful in learning about the two receptive skills; Reading and Listening. In this unit I used my reading skills to grasp the concepts of the unit. Learning about how we read and listen was important, from predictive reading skills, to scanning and skimming, and finally the deduction of contexts. It was important for me to have this break down of learning in order to help my students. One of the most important parts of this unit was reading about the problems that students may have and how to avoid them/fix them. This includes carefully selecting texts, creating interest and teaching appropriate topics. As always there was a great review of the ESA method.
