This chapter high lightened the structure of English language. The grammar can be considered as the roots of the language (and of most languages, even though there are some very flexible once such as Chinese) while the vocabulary and functions represent the leaves. As we know, a tree can´t grow high without strong roots; equally a student can´t have a strong concept of a language without knowing it´s grammar. On the other hand a tree with strong roots but no leaves might be strong, but it is neither beautiful, nor efficient. Same thing reflects on a person that has little vocabulary. It is therefore the teachers goal to teach both sides of the coin in a suitable way.
