I have learnt that indeed words are building blocks of language and therefore they must be arranged in a recognisable order.in addition the main parts of speech includes i.e., nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions and we use them in our everyday conversations. I have also learnt that for speech to make sense, words must be linked in the correct way. there are certain rules of language to follow, for example a correct sentence has to have a Subject + verb + object or subject + verb. I have learnt in depth from this chapter that each word type performs a different function and some are dependent on others and others independent in order to make sense.
