Unit 9, about lesson planning, was short and simple. Planning lessons serve important functions which include: aiding the planning process by writing down the learning objective; having something to refer to during class to keep you on track; and being a record of what was covered in the class. In general, lesson plans should be simple and flexible, acting as guidelines rather than a script. The content of lesson plans can include things such as learner objectives, personal aims, the language point being taught, materials needed in class, anticipated problems (and solutions), the procedure, lesson phase, timing, class level, number of students, the date and the teacher's name.
