This unit demonstrated the importance of knowing the differences between active and passive voice. Though active often seems more natural and fluid when speaking, passive voice is also used often when the focus is meant less for the agent doing the action, but more on the object receiving the action. This unit also discussed the complexity of identifying and explaining modals and phrasal verbs. Modals are used to determine possibility or obligation of another verb. Phrasal verbs are interesting because the verb is connected to a particle in the sentence, but depending on the usage and which words are used, the words may follow one another, or be split up with an object noun.
