This unit talked about choosing appropriate class materials and books. There were three type of materials it covered. First was authentic materials, which are materials from real life, such as newspaper or magazine articles and restaurant menus. Next was created materials, which are worksheets or other handouts that the teacher can create and use in their lessons. These are helpful because they can be more modeled to fit the class lessons and students learning styles. Finally, the course books. Course books are good because they are set up to help the teacher explain the lessons and the students to learn them. Their drawbacks is that they can get outdated and repetitive.
