Unit 3 discussed how to evaluate the beginning point for students and how to use this knowledge in developing a syllabus. Also highlighted were the limiting factors that may come into play as we try to match our syllabus with the constraints of employer, time, resources, etc. Syllabus design is discussed with online research elucidating the various schools of thought and philosophies behind syllabus design. Tests for various purposes were described as well as the the importance of using an end-of-course evaluation to apprise the teacher of needed changes in methods, etc. All in all, this unit emphasized the need and importance of measurement throughout the educational process.
