This unit distinguished between the various common present tenses. The four common present tenses include Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, and Present Perfect Continuous. The distinctions between each present tense are minute. The difference often weighed on the auxiliary verb used or the form of the main verb. These small differences helped me to answer the questions on this exam but I found that the usages were very hard to deifier. For example; one of the usages for the Present Simple tense was ?a habitual or routine action?, witch is almost the same and one of the usages for the Present Continuous tense, ?emphasis on frequent action?.
