In this unit, I learned that lessons can focus on one of three possible parts of learning new language, either vocabulary, grammar, or language functions. Each of these parts of learning a new language are equally important, but one might take importance over the other depending on the class that you are teaching. For example, beginner students would need to focus more on learning basic vocabulary before learning about grammar structures. I also learned the best lesson form in which to teach each of these language lessons. I learned that a straight arrow lesson form is best for vocabulary lessons, and a boomerang lesson would be better suited for a lesson on language functions.
