Unit 6 introduces the reader to the four types of past tenses: Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect, and Past Perfect Continuous. These types are formed very similarly to their present tense counterparts, but, of course, take place in the past. Their usages, common mistakes/errors, and sample activate teaching ideas are given as well as the past simple form of many irregular verbs. There are many irregular verbs when forming past simple and past participles which must be focused on and for which there are no rules when teaching. Memorization is key here, but fun activate games such as the ones described in this unit will be helpful for engaging and educating the students.
