This unit used videos to show what not to do and what to do when teaching. Teaching methods are just as important as lesson content. Implementing the 50%/50% TS and 70%/30% T/S is crucial to giving learners effective and practical time to practice the language. TPR is important to help students understand the lesson objectives effectively. Minimal repetition and positive intonation goes a long way to creating a productive class environment. A smile and establishing a good rapport breaks down invisible walls adult learners bring to the learning environment. Explaining material respectfully also destroys such barriers. I would have been happier to be in the second class room.
