This unit dealt with a comparison of two lesson videos. In the first video, the teacher spoke very quickly, claimed that everything was easy, prompted the class using terms he hadn't explained, didn't smile, never explained or repeated what he was writing on the board, and creates a general atmosphere of anxiety and intimidation. In contrast, in the second video, the teacher spoke slowly and clearly, smiled/joked/laughed, introduced himself and learned the students' names, gave the class sufficient time to complete activities and monitored student progress, repeated everything he wrote on the board verbally, and created a generally fun/positive/engaging learning environment.
