In this lesson I learned the importance of teaching receptive skills. There are four basic skills receptive skills which is reading and listening and productive skills which are speaking and writing. These skills are important and vital in learning a new language. It helps getting students understand what they're doing and as well helps the teacher. It helps the teacher understand on how to use these skills to teach students. For example, making students listen to a audio cd while skimming the book. This allows the students to hear the correct pronunciation of a word and the spelling. Which will give them a better and deeper understanding of the language they're trying to learn.
