Present tenses can be quite confusing for both teacher and student, but if the teacher understands the concept and is comfortable with the knowledge he/she has required, it can be easier to explain to the student. For instance by remembering to add an s to a word can make it present simple form, eg sit/sits. Adding \"ing\" to the end of a word turns it into present continuous, eg watch/watching. Using the word \"have\" in a sentence turns it into present perfect form. Present perfect continuous form relates past activities to the present. The activity will continue in the future or activity was in progress for a length of time. For example, I'm tired because I've studied all day.
