For a class to be effective , the teacher should be able to inspire the self-assurance of the students .He could use body language,voice, as well as class arrangement such as grouping, pairing, or allow students to work on their own .The organization of the position of the students and the teacher matter too. The classroom and students could be organized in an orderly row circle, horseshoe , separate tables, and appropriate teachers position depending on learning stages. Class management also involves the amount of time spent on the blackboard , attention giving to individual students more time should be spent on weaker students but at the same time teacher should try to be fair with time spend on all learners . Teachers should try as much as possible to reduce their talking and increase the talking time of the students . Giving instructions is also another tool for controlling a class and indicated by the use of simple language, consistency , the teachers usage of visual clues and checking instructions by asking questions to the learners . The teacher can establish a rapport to control the class such as having the right manner and looking as if he is enjoying the job . Class management also extends to maintaining discipline teachers identify problem behavior of learners such as boredom and develop methods to preventing problem behaviour such as making lessons interesting and varied .teachers could respond to problem behaviour by keeping strictly to school disciplinary code and without making threats that they can not enforce .
