This unit, though it seemed brief, was actually very insightful and full of information about the difference between how English speakers use the various future tenses. While reviewing the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, and the \"going to\" tenses, I learned that the difference between the perfect and perfect continuous tenses are, while on the surface invisible, once actually taken apart and studied, point to two very opposite expressions. The future perfect conveys an action that will have been completed by a specific future time, whereas the future perfect continuous expresses an action that will have continued by a specific time. At first glance, this was confusing and one of the most difficult things to make myself remember, but upon reviewing each one's name and some example sentences, it became clear. In every unit that has so far covered the tenses, I have found it very helpful and informative that the chapter gives lesson plans for the Engage, Study, and Activate stages. It helps to break down each part of the unit and envision how one would teach students the information, actually leading to a better understanding of the intricacies of the material. Ultimately the section on telling the difference between the \"be going to\" future tense and the present continuous was informative because their differences are seemingly slight but convey very different messages in English, and I see this as one of the more interesting hurdles for those learning the various tenses in the English language.
