There are different types of groups that we will encounter while teaching English; therefore, we need to learn about these different groups in order to know how to address them when required. One of them is the beginner students, which can be sub classified into the absolute beginner, the false beginner, the adult beginner, the young beginner, and the beginner without Roman alphabet. As teachers, we need to focus on their needs and apply different methodologies and techniques until we find the ones that work effectively with our group. Additionally, we can encounter teaching individual students. Although, it has its disadvantages as the loss of classroom dynamics; this type of group has a lot of advantages as you would not have mixed levels of proficiency in English, highly motivated students, and you can develop a close relationship with the students, among others. The third type, children, will give you one of the most rewarding experience while teaching the language. This group can be challenging as children have very short attention spans and if the activities and time are not handled properly, it can result in a discipline problem. Luckily, for teachers there are a wide set of activities and games we can incorporate to our classes so our students can learn and have fun at the same time. Teaching business English is one of the most feared type as many teachers will claim they don?t have experience in this field. One important thing to remember is that we aren?t experts in business, but we are experts in teaching the English language.
