Unit 8 covered future tenses. There are 7 types of future tenses including: future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going +infinitive(=to verb), present simple with future application, and present continuous with future application. The future simple is constructed: \"will +base verb\". It is used for facts, promises, predictions/forecasts, assumptions, on-the-spot decisions, and when making threats. Future continuous is \"will +be +verb-ing\". It is used when describing something in progress at a specific moment in the future, when guessing what might be happening at the present moment (somewhere else), when asking polite questions regarding other people's plans, and when talking about events that are already decided upon. The future perfect is: \"will +have +past participle\". It is mainly used for an event that will have been done by a certain point in time in the future. Future perfect continuous is constructed: \"will +have +been +verb-ing\". It is used to show how long something will have continued by a certain time and usually starts a sentence with \"by\" + time period (Ex. by the end of next week, +sentence). Be going +infinitive is used for intentions, predictions (with current evidence), and plans. Present simple and present continuous can also be used, but with future implications. An example of present simple would be: \"The train leaves at 9:00 p.m.\". An example of the present continuous would be: \"We're taking a break in August\". Overall, unit 8 gave good explanations of the 7 future tenses along with various examples.
