The materials, aids or equipments may include, but not limited to the followng: The normal white/black board Interactive white boards (IWB) Overhead projectors (OHP) Cassettes, CDs, DVDs, Videos, Video camera Visual aids( realia, photos, toys etc) Worksheets and work cards Dictionaries Photocopiers computers Internet connection Briefly speaking, some training and practice may be needed for practical use of digital or electronic equipments such as the IBW, OHP, computers and photcopier. For their effective usage during the lesson, equipments such as the computer, IWB and OHP should require some planning and preparation advance, as well as good position in the classroom for clear view by all the students Worksheets and work cards could either be bought from a publisher or made by the teacher. In any case they can have the following uses: to adapt published materials; act as prompts or cue material; used in role-play activities; grammar/vocabulary presentation or consolidation etc Cassettes recorders/CDs/DVDs/videos etc are basically used fr the same purpose, practicing the receptive skill of listening. However, videos have visual effect which can add variety and interest over cassettes and CDs. Dictionaries are essential in the classrrom for word reference.
