This unit offers visual opportunity to see the ESA methology applied to a lesson and of how the techniques for classroom management of unit 5 is implemented to make a lesson more effective. Both videos are typical contrasts to one another in term of tutoring approach and students response. Below is a brief statement of my observation. The first video is a blatent failure as the following observations which could only negative remarks were clearly notiecable on the part of the teacher: -Failure to create good rapport with the class -No engage phase at all -Poor elicitation technique -Lengthy and unproductive teacher talk time (TTT) -Poor overall usage of voice. And the following reaction could be seen in the students attitude and overall class atmosphere -Avery rigid class atmosphere -Minimal class participation -Because the teacher repeatedly used the phrase \"it's very simple\" unevasively put students off as due to the fear of losing face. -Inhibited Stusents talk time (STT) and also student-student interaction due to teacher authoritative nature. The result was a failure in the first lesson which is sees a complete revolution in the second lesson. The second lesson coreected all the errors of the first. The result were the following: -A relaxed class atmosphere -Effective rapport with the class -Enhanced students participation -Increased students talk time (STT) and also student-student interaction. -Effective pairing (classroom arrangment). The second lesson stages were effectively carried through by the teacher, except that the actuvate phase activity was too short and less diverse.
