This lesson focused on methodologies of teaching including but not limited to Grammar-translation, Audio-lingualism, PPP, Talk-based learning etc and concludes that despite so many different approaches and the ongoing debates about their effectiveness, it is generally accepted that students need as much exposure to the language as possible and other points. Furthermore, students must be motivated. Elicitation is a great way to involve students. A very effective method for teaching is Engage-Study-Activate (ESA) and two types are Boomerang and Straight Arrow. The latter is when the teachers strictly follows the ESA structure wheres the Boomerang method can be more versatile. Another type is called patchwork ESA and this structure can be as follows: E-A-A-S-A-E-S-A. Notices the emphasis on the Activate. The unit then proceeds to discuss ideas for the engage phase, ideas for the study phase, ideas for activation phase, and giving feedback. Correction techniques are important and often can impact have a significant impact on the culture of the classroom environment and the teach to student relationship. Understanding who corrects, how, and what is corrected is essential to proceeding with lessons productively and keeping morale and motivation high. Using symbols for correction such as \"S\" or \"WO\" and \"T\" can minimize corrective marks on papers and make the feedback seem less scary and domineering. the appendix goes on to discuss lesson planing and general guidance. Overall, this Unit 2 was about methodologies and working with students to ensure a productive and comfortable classroom environment.
