Teach English in Meilong Nongchang - Shanwei Shi
There are various tests established in order to make sure the individual is able to understand how the topic at hand, in this case English. Many tests are used for all types of occupations as well. The fifteenth unit contains a brief overview of the examinations used by teachers in the classroom as well as for future careers. First the unit explains five different types of tests, placement, diagnostic, progress, practice, and proficiency. Then the unit explains in more detail of what they these types of tests are used for and their purpose for the teacher. In my own schooling, I have seen various types of tests. A couple of times teachers would give us practice tests to the students and I found this to be very helpful in many cases. Other times I noticed teachers would create questions in complex manners which I found difficult. Therefore, I wish there were a bit more examples for creating examination questions and their purposes. The pages four and five do outline a straightforward test however, I wish there was a bit more detail for their purposes or maybe another test example for audio based test questions. In school I was taught Spanish and we had to use all parts of the language as expressed in this unit as well. I would have to listen to a CD for dialogue based questions, then multiple choices, and an essay portion. In regards to the TOEFL and the Cambridge proficiency examinations, this was new information to myself and was highly informative. Overall, I found this unit informative of the various types of examinations to use for the students as well as other tests used for the future careers.
