In the Unit 4 in this TEYL course we have a complex overview of such important subject like materials we use during the lessons. In order to create good, working lesson plan the teacher should make a few decisions about essential and supplementary materials he/she is going to use on the lesson. Whether they are going to be authentic or adopted (judging by the students? level, purpose of the lesson, etc.); how to choose the right book and what?s more important how to use this book during the course. Boredom is the worst enemy for children, so choice of materials is essentially important here. Indeed the teacher should choose the main book for a course, which is going to cover most of the students? needs in language knowledge. But, unfortunately, there are no magic books, which can cover 100% of students? needs. Thus, supplementary books and materials are complete ?must have? for the teacher. But choosing a right book is not the only key to a good lesson. There are few more very important points that are help to make the lesson success: teacher?s physical presence and its characteristics starting from clothes choice, body language, movements and eye contact, finishing with teacher?s voice control and usage. Teacher?s behavioral and personality characteristics which help establishing connection between the teacher and the students by knowing students? names, being open, well mannered, positive and enjoying own job. Maintaining discipline by being consistent and fair, following own words and threats and not letting personal feelings influence the lesson by any means.
