Teach English in Chumuguo Linchang - Shanwei Shi
This unit explains about theories, methods and techniques related to the teaching practice. I could learn about different methodologies, which each follows one specific theory and different practices but all of them have the same aim: make students learn the English language. And this was really interesting, because I could realize that many schools I have already worked used to follow different methodologies that now I am studying. Some of these methodologies are more focused on translations (such as Grammar-translation) , some on tasks (Task-based learning), and so on. For each class we have to follow important steps, that will make the students practice and our practice as teachers much more valuable, such as the ESA (Engage, study and activate) processes. These will stablish one beginning (eliciting part of the class plus engage), one explanation plus development of the class (study) and a practice plus a conclusion for each class (activate). Follow this, the students will be able to get involved with the English language, study its specificities and practice with colleagues what they know and what was new for them. For these steps I could know about different ideas for activities and practices, that would certainly make my practices much more interesting and flexible. I could also learn about how to correct in a bet way my students, such as that teachers shouldn't interrupt students to correct them while they are speaking and I also really liked the ideas for correcting writing. Studying this lesson I could ensure that now I am guided to be a better professional and plan my classes in a much more effective way.
