This unit covered the past tenses. After going over unit four again this unit was much easier to get through. Once you remember the certain requirements for form the different types of sentences (e.g. adding 'ing' to the verb for past continuous or the words been and had for past perfect continuous) it becomes quite simple.As a native English speaker I've always used these verb tenses without giving it so much as a second thought as to what I was doing. To have clear explanations of how these verbs are used and why there being used in specific situations will make lessons much more fluid and easy to comprehend thus, improving me as a teacher.
