This unit has taught me much about understanding how to explain the intricacies of English tenses that I have taken for granted as an English speaker. I have also determined that this is probably one of the most difficult parts of the English language to teach to foreigners and probably the most difficult for them to learn.This chapter covers the forms of past tense. It connected very well with the previous unit on present tense. The general rules provided to distinguish between perfect, continuous and continuous perfect past tenses were very helpful. Knowing these rules will continue to apply in the future tenses is going to be very helpful.
