This unit was all about lesson materials and course books. There are two types of lesson materials: authentic materials and created materials. Authentic materials are often more interesting to students, as they can be geared toward their interests and/or are practical for everyday life. However, created materials can be graded for the language level while authentic material cannot. When it comes to course books there are many advantages and disadvantages concerning their usage. How extensively a course book is used depends on the teaching style of the teacher. From this unit I feel like I've learned more about structuring a lesson plan.
