This Unit was based around the incorporation of the receptive skills set which can be broken down into reading and listening capability. The importance of the receptive skills set is the influx of information from texts to the learner and that persons ability to comprehend not just the literal words but the contextual meaning behind them. The usage of authentic vs. non-authentic texts and how and when they should be used in class was also mentioned. The Unit went into detail about how a typical ESA patchwork lesson plan may look and went through the engage, study and activate stages giving examples and explaining the underlying strategy.
