There are a lot of irregular verbs in the English language, in fact, you could probably teach an entire course on them. However, I have learned that a curriculum vitae exercise may be a great exercise for students to manipulate past tense words. Creating stories or telling true tales may be another great way to learn, get creative, and invoke learning with students. I think that this lesson, it seems like it may be a bit discouraging if you don't teach it in a way that allows students to work through hurdles with courage. Managing the classroom with engaging and innovative poesis will be key at this point in the English learning journey.
