This unit was very helpful to me as I had not been certain whether I was supposed to develop lesson plans for my lessons and, if I was supposed to develop them, how extensive they should be. I tend to be easily distractible and so I suspect that I will need a good lesson plan with an associated chronology of the class period to ensure that I stay on track; otherwise, I'll be just as distracted as most of the students will be! But it's definitely helpful to know that there are no definitive requirements for how extensive your lesson plan should be, so long as it is developed enough to work from but not so developed as to be restrictive.
