This unit covers the various conjugations of past tenses. The past simple conjugations (adding -ed or -d, with regular verbs) are used when indicating the completion of an action with a definite termination. The past continuous when use to describe an event that doesn't have a clear end point- such as used when telling a story- description, gradual development, and even interruption. The present perfect past tense is often used as a continuation of a following action. The less common past present perfect continuous is used when talking continuously up to the present moment (or to other wise use it for when talking about something current).
