Lesson 15 was about evaluation and testing. There are a few ways to assess students language level tutorials, evaluation by students, and testing. There are many kinds of testing to gauge a students level. As an instructor in an Adult Academy I have done several placement tests. The key with a placement tests is you want to start the student off with easy questions, but as the test goes on the questions should become more difficult. One thing that I learned in this lesson is that diagnostic test are very similar to placement test. However they are usually given to students at the start of the course, not before the course. Also diagnostic tests tend to be very extensive. I think that the most important test you can give students are progress test. You can see what the students are learning, and what they are forgetting. You can also gauge what students strengths, and weaknesses are with progress test. I also learned about Cambridge Assesment. I am an American so I had never learned about the KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE or the Skills for Life Test. I think this is important because many students from many different countries take these tests yearly.
