I feel like a lot of my responses will sound the same, probably because a lot of this I have experience with as I teach an ESL class to Elementary school students. The unit however, like others, has provide more background information on certain aspects of classroom management, as well as given me more ideas to use in my classes. For example, when I first started teaching ESL classes here when I checked the instructions I would always ask \"Do you understand?\" I know that this questions doesn't actually show if the students understand or not but in my nervousness it was the easiest question to ask them. Now I still ask that but I ask it in other ways or ask more questions after that. For example in a feelings lesson I show a little video clip and ask \"Who is happy?\" and when they answer I ask why? They may not always be able to give the complete answer in English but they are able to answer in their native language. Since my co-teacher understands she tells me they are correct and then I repeat what they said in English. Like, \"Good. He's happy because he has a new bike.\" Or just \"He has a new bike.\" since they already told me who is happy.
