The unit defines and gives an explanation about modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. I think modals are easy for students to understand as several modals have the same meaning which can be request, permission, necessity or obligation, certainty, ability/possibility. Still, students should look at degree of formality and select the modal verb carefully. The unit provides the chart which classifies the modal verbs in accordance with the meaning/usage, Present, Past and Future tenses. There are also some teaching ideas which may be helpful for preparing drills and exercises. In my opinion, phrasal verbs are a more difficult topic as it is not always easy for students to recognize them and get the meaning of the verbs. What complicates the issue is existence of types of the phrasal verbs. I believe the only way to remember the prasal verbs and their meanings is to include them into informal conversations and practice. Another topic examined is the passive voice. It is necessary to explain to students why and when the passive voice can be used and how it is formed. Exercises given to students should focus on practice of grammatical structures change.
