In this unit I have learned what it is to be a good teacher and all the qualities that involves being a great teacher. The best teachers not only care about their teaching but also cares deeply about the learning of a student. I have learned that there are many roles of a teacher and each role should be taken seriously. Each role has a good meaning and are a good thing to use and know while teaching a class. There are two types of roles that a teacher could take which are being more dominant or involved, and the other is being more withdrawn. Being more withdrawn helps the students motivate themselves and get them to do activities and things without you being around all the time. Teachers need to be aware of the culture and know how the students are motivated and learn the common weaknesses. Language levels are a very important thing to be aware of as a teacher so you know what to expect out of the student when you teach a certain grade level. I have also learned what motivates students to want to take english classes. There are a variety of reasons why they want to learn but whatever the reason is a teacher needs to make the class fun and interesting.
