In this unit, I have learnt the different types of methodologies, its history and its benefits and drawbacks. Having this outlined, I was able to recognise how certain techniques may be more beneficial to different learners depending on their culture, expectation, prior learning experiences and of corse, their age. Phycological factors that play a part in cognitive learning and how we may use this to our advantage by incorporating different stimuli, material and actions to increase the interest and engagement of the student to ultimately increase overall retention of what was taught. This unit also introduced me to ESA, providing numerous examples of activities that would best fit each phase and qualities the teacher must demonstrate at each phases i.e. engaging phases being more student centric to encourage and motivate students going into the lesson. In addition, i have gained a better insight to the different correction techniques and and when these techniques are best implemented. the differences between an error and a mistake and when it is most important to for these errors/mistakes to be address, avoiding incorrect information to be engraved.
