This unit is about different types of lesson material a teacher can use. A teacher can use authentic materials, songs, tv shows, magazines, newspapers, or menus. These are all things that a native speaker would hear or read. Another type of lesson material include created materials. These are things that might come with the course book or they might be things that the teacher makes. Created materials can be flash cards, worksheets, or tole-playing cards. This was fun to process as I read it, because it got me thinking about all the fun things I can make for my students. This unit also went in-depth about course books. I realized there is a lot of responsibility in choosing a course book as well as a lot of things to consider when planning lessons with/around a course book. In my opinion, choosing a suitable book for adult students seems rather hard. To decide what compromises to make in lesson content for the different levels, finding something visually interesting to adults of a different background, and making sure the price is affordable. I think children book's would be easier to pick, and more fun. In my experience children are children everywhere.
