What makes a teacher a good teacher?! I am living in China for 4 years, working and studying at the same time and I have had some remarks on the teaching method of my professors. When I personally started teaching Chinese children I realized that I was obligated to used my professors teaching method to teach my students because of the cultural background and learning experience of my students. Out of all the qualities stated here I strongly believe that one very important quality to make a good teacher while teaching non English speaking students it's taking in consideration three aspects, their home country( to have an overall picture of the culture) their native language ( to see if there is any similarity or differences which could be relevant in teaching them English) and their 'learning' culture ( are they quiet listeners or participants) PS: I learned the levels of ability in English language and what's the equivalent in Europe ( The Commom European Framework ) I personally prefer the English using of Beginner, Elementary, Low intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intemediate and Advanced because it defines the level of the student in that language.
