The qualities and roles of what compromise a good teacher go hand in hand. Learning from every teaching experience is an important way to assess how a teachers' skills are improving and the impact they are having upon the learners. Being organized and mindful of the different roles and when they take place during planned activities I believe will help a teacher understand if they are performing a role correctly. Self assessments after classes are important for teachers as well as for learners to reflect on what methods of teaching worked that day and what can be improved. Learners vary in age, experience, motivation, and all of these factors and more are exceptionally important to create a positive learning environment. A good teacher will be aware of all of the factors that students carry into the classroom with them. I feel this ties into gaging where a student falls in their language level. A good teacher will be able to spot almost immediately when coursework is too advanced or too simple for a learner. Maybe the student needs to be placed in a higher level class, or the opposite, and the teacher will need to do more tutoring work with the individual.
