This unit talked about the importance of creating a lesson plan. I learned this is valuable because it is an aid to planning the lesson, a working document to keep the instructor on target, and provides a specific record of how a lesson is taught. Writing out the lesson is key, but also it is vital the teacher be flexible. I especially liked how the lesson plan encouraged recording anticipated problems for the students as well as the teacher, in addition to the learner objects and personal goals for the teacher. Finally, the bulk of the plan encourages details of how a teacher envisions a lesson should go, thus providing a written map of how students learn the skills being taught.
