The content of unit 2 contained information on general theories about learning and development from the age span of infancy to full maturation. The unit also contained information on how human beings learn languages in our native tongue and other languages. This unit informed me on how to keep learning environments in mind when deciding upon a suitable approach to pedagogy or teaching. The skills our students want and need from our teaching in addition identifying the process of maturation and adapting our methods to changes that take place was also discussed in this unit. I learned that my native tongue is considered L1 and any second language that I learned will be considered L2.
